CAPZA acquires a minority stake in the Group MT SYSTEMS, now ETERNITY Systems, leader in the washing of reusable bins for the food industry.
CAPZA acquires a minority stake in the Group MT SYSTEMS, leader in the washing of reusable bins for the food industry. The objective of this operation is to accelerate the development of MT SYSTEMS, via targeted acquisition operations, in France and abroad, in a fast-growing niche market responding to sustainable development issues.
Created in 1994 and based in Perpignan, MT SYSTEMS is the world leader in the washing of reusable bins for the food industry, bins used to package and transport foodstuffs (fruits and vegetables, meat, bakery products, fish, etc.). Established in 6 countries in Europe (France, Spain, Portugal and Germany) and North America (United States and Canada) with 13 washing sites, the Group achieved a turnover of nearly €100 million. in 2020, washing more than 700 million bins. MT SYSTEMS today employs 1 people and has 200 sites in France, in Lisses (3), Cestas (91) and Cavaillon (33).
MT SYSTEMS enjoys a central position within a circular ecosystem bringing together producers, supermarkets and poolers (suppliers of reusable plastic bins). The group's activity makes it possible to respond to the sustainable development challenges of these players, in a logic of circular economy and waste reduction – the food superstores having made commitments on these subjects.
Reusable (recycled) plastic bins make it possible to limit food waste thanks to the best quality of transport, and to reduce the volume of waste linked to conventional disposable bins made of cardboard, wood, polystyrene. They thus consume less water and cause less greenhouse gas emissions. The washing of bins also meets public health requirements (decontamination of containers), reinforced by the context of the global health crisis.
The arrival of CAPZA in the capital aims to give MT SYSTEMS significant financial resources as well as additional expertise to accelerate its development in a fast-growing niche market, supported among other things by sustainable development issues, and to establish itself in new countries in order to complete its international footprint, particularly in UK and South America.
MT SYSTEMS indeed wishes to carry out a strategy of diversification in sectors related to its historical activity via a policy of targeted acquisitions. The Group thus aims to consolidate companies specializing in the washing of various containers, to establish its know-how in the automation of industrial washing processes, and to consolidate its position as the world leader in industrial washing in the medium term.
CAPZA enters the capital of the Group as a minority shareholder, the shareholders-founders Gildas Bouilly and Serge Perez retaining control of the Group. The operation is also an opportunity for the management team to strengthen its capital.
« The industrial washing segment is a growing market. By backing this activity with CAPZA, we are giving it the means to develop within a structure that will enable it to strengthen its positions on its markets and also on new markets. » Gildas BOUILLY, Chairman of MT SYSTEMS
« We were won over by the project to develop an exciting profession carried out with talent by Gildas Bouilly and his team. Our desire is to support the growth of MT SYSTEMS allowing it to consolidate its position as the world industrial leader in the washing of reusable bins and also to contribute to the future expansion of MT SYSTEMS" Benoit CHOPPIN, Co-Head France Flex Equity at CAPZA
