In a report published by the Circul'R agency, ETERNITY Systems is among the pioneering companies contributing to the gradual transition from the linear economy to the circular economy in the agricultural world.
The linear model: a model in decline
The observation is clear: “the agricultural model is today coming up against its own limits and, above all, those of the planet.” This is the sentence that introduces the report written by Circul'R in order to alert the situation.
This is evidenced by the widespread use of single-use packaging, whether paper or plastic, since the 60s. However, this omnipresence of single-use has a negative impact on the environment, the effects of which are numerous. : greenhouse gas emissions, difficult collection and recycling, destruction of biodiversity, etc.
Thus, the question relating to the development of a circular economy “emerges in the ecosystem. It is moreover on this last economic model that the studies relayed in the report entitled “Agriculture and the circular economy: what solutions to move away from the dominant linear model? ».
And there are many areas of work:

The objective is therefore clear: to support the transition of all public and private actors towards the circular economy and above all to see “how, by enabling better production, better consumption and management of new lives, the circular economy contributes to moving away from a predatory and linear logic (extract – consume – throw away) to move towards a more regenerative logic. »
Today we are witnessing dynamics that tend towards the choice of a circular economic model. The main statistic to take into account remains the preponderant growth of the bulk market on French territory. Indeed, Circul’R relates a “ multiplication of turnover by 12 in 6 years [as well as structuring] with operational solutions which are multiplying ».
It is therefore from these results that Circul'R cites ETERNITY Systems among the actors gradually leading the agricultural world towards the path of the circular economy as well as the serious application of the law establishing the end of single-use plastic by 2040. As a reminder, ETERNITY Systems washes nearly 750 million units per year, making it the world leader in the collection, transport, repair, washing and storage of agri-food logistics packaging for large-scale distribution, particularly on behalf of IFCO, the leading pooler of “RPC” or reusable transport crates for fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and even bakery.
Echoing this study, the National Council for Food Resilience launched this month in cooperation with AFNOR the drafting of a practical guide for all stakeholders in the value chain to move towards greater resilience and circularity across all agri-food value chains, publication in 2024, to be continued!
How does ETERNITY Systems intervenes in the circular economy and the agricultural value chain?
For more than 30 years, ETERNITY Systems establishes itself as the world leader in industrial washing of reusable packaging and containers food primary, secondary and tertiary whether for supermarkets, retail, commercial & collective catering or events.
The hygiene and safety food are at the heart of the company's activity thanks to a dedicated team in each country, regular microbiological, allergen and pathogen controls, the application of a HACCP approach and the certification of all ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, guarantees of seriousness and credibility. Moreover, as part of our continuous improvement approach, we are currently contributing to the European consortium Buddie-Pack of which 5 of the 6 use cases studied are linked to food products.
